Why is it important to know and do the WILL of YAHUAH?

What is YAHUAH’s will? This question is often asked by sincere seekers of Truth. In this writing, I share insight about the will of YAH that I received during a recent time of praise. It turned out to be rather lengthy. Feel free to read it in several sessions as needed. Also, I welcome your thoughts, insights, comments. Now, here is the writing.

Originally written 11-26-21

Last night, I went to bed early and woke up about 1:45 a.m. I came into the room here and began to praise YAHUAH for about 30 minutes or so.

My time of praise was a little before the 4th watch of the night which is between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

And in the fourth watch of the night YAHUSHA went unto them, walking on the sea.

Matthew 14:25

I don’t regularly get up around the 4th watch to specifically praise YAH, but when I do, it is always a blessed time. I greatly delighted in praising YAH last night.

Let Thy Will Be Done

While praising Him, I began to sing that YAH’s will be done in my life:

Let thy will be done.
Let thy kingdom come in my life.
Not my will; not the will of the
wicked one; not the will of man.
Let thy will be done in my life.

Then the revelation that I write about below dropped in my ruach. This new-to-me revelation is a great blessing and confirmation. I pray that it will be for you as well.

Walled In, Walled Out

The English word, will, is spelled W-I-L-L. If we were to change the letter, I, to the letter, A, we would get the word, W-A-L-L.

When I am out of the WILL of YAH, as I have been so often in this life that He has given me, I have been WALLed in and WALLed out in various ways.

The purpose of a wall is to both to keep things and people in and to keep them out. When YAH’s will is not done in my, your or anyone else’s life, we are kept back from what YAH has apportioned for us and vice versa. We do not flourish as He created us to do.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of YAHUAH shall flourish in the courts of our Elohim. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

Psalms 92:12-14

In such a state, we are unable and incapable of fully accessing YAH’s peace, YAH’s provision and YAH’s protection, to name a few of His promised benefits.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:3-4

Wall Characteristics

Here are some characteristics of these WALLs that we experience when we are out of YAH’s WILL.

One: Not all walls are brick and mortar, physical and tangible. They come in different forms. Though not seen, these WALLs of containment are just as real.

Two: Some WALLs are erected by the wicked one for our destruction, but some are created by YAH, Himself, for our protection.

The Fiery Wall

Here are some examples WALLS ordained by YAH.

And YAHUAH Elohim said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore YAHUAH Elohim sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Genesis 3:22-24

YAHUAH Elohim put a wall in the form of a flaming sword at the entrance of Eden after Adam and Eve failed to do His WILL. He did so to protect them from themselves. Man is not to live forever on this earth in an unregenerate state.

Walled Door

YAH created a WALL at the door of Lot’s house. Bear with me and do comment below with a different perspective. I welcome this.

Lot’s door was also a wall of protection to those men who wanted to violate the messengers of YAH and Lot. Surely, they were out of the WILL of YAH.

And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

Genesis 19:11

No doubt, they would have immediately fallen dead had they entered Lot’s house where the angelic messengers of YAH were. Any opportunity for repentance would have been immediately lost.

They Could Have Repented

I submit that in their searching and searching for the door, those men had a moment to repent. While feeling all over the area to find the way in, they could have possibly been saying something like this:

You just wait until we get our hands on you Lot!!!! You, you, you, you…!!!! I know it’s here. The knob was just there a moment ago! Look over here! Maybe it’s higher. Feel up there. No, no, no. I know it’s down here! Everybody, let’s look over there for it!

And on and on and on until they tired themselves out.

Opportunity Lost

At their moment of facing the WALL erected by YAH, was a moment of missed opportunity to cry out for mercy from the Most High Elohim.

So, instead, they could have said something like this:

Hey, Y’all, this is not random. Lot’s door is just like all of ours. We should be able to easily find it. Something bigger is going on here. Y’all, we have crossed the line for real this time.

From the oldest to the youngest, they could have each fallen on their knees right in front of Lot’s door and cried out to the Almighty Elohim whom they do not know, but innately sensed that He is the one who erected the WALL.

Infinite Mercy

We don’t know if YAH would have still destroyed Sodom had this second scenario occurred. However, we do know that YAH’s mercy is beyond our finite comprehension.

Seek ye YAHUAH while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto YAHUAH, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our Elohim, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith YAHUAH. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:6-9

Had they repented, they would have instantaneously been set on the road of righteous. Our heavenly Father would have no doubt sent those to instruct them in how to walk in His ways of righteousness.

Righteous Intercession

We don’t know the number of men who were at Lot’s door. But we do know Abraham’s intercession for the city and YAH’s promise to not destroy the city for the sake of 50, 40, 45, 30, 20, 10 righteous men.

And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before YAHUAH. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And YAHUAH said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto YAHUAH, which am but dust and ashes: Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake. And he said unto him, Oh let not YAHUAH be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto YAHUAH: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake. And he said, Oh let not YAHUAH be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

Genesis 18:22-32

Even if Sodom was still destroyed, had these men repented at the WALL of Lot’s door, according to Scripture, they certainly would not have gone the way of the unrighteous after their death.

Paradise Found

Remember the thief on the cross?

And he said unto YAHUSHA, Master, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And YAHUSHA said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Luke 23:42-43

He had no time to move beyond the cross, yet he was promised to be with the Messiah after death.

The Wilderness Wall

Forty years of wilderness wandering was another WALL built by YAH. Since Israel chose to be out of His WILL, they could in no way conquer the people, the giants, and their accompanying sorceries, while in a state of being out of the WILL of YAHUAH Elohim.

Out of His mercy, He made them go in circles in the wilderness. They would have been annihilated in Canaan and potentially the seed of Abraham wiped out had they been allowed to go forward.

Unwilling Wills

Israel refused to embrace YAH’s will, to stay in YAH’s will and to delight to do YAH’s will. They knew His mighty acts on their behalf, but did not become intimately acquainted with His ways.

YAH did not go before them in Canaan to fight with and for them because of their refusals. Therefore, the wilderness was the WALL of protection that stood between Israel and the Promised Land.

The Point

My point in sharing this about the wall of Eden, the wall at Lot’s door and the wilderness wall is that sometimes, it is not always the wicked one that erects walls when we are out of the WILL of YAHUAH.

Should we be permitted to proceed while out of His WILL, setbacks, buffeting, shipwreck and whatever else the wicked one would be legally permitted to do, surely awaits.

When we perceive a WALL blocking us, we step back and prayerfully ask if we are truly in the WILL of YAH.

Wicked Walls

The wicked one can also erect walls around and against us when we are out of YAH’s WILL. His walls come with darkness that obscures illumination, revelation, and Truth. They are designed to keep us going in circles within our own vain imaginations and the world’s devilish facades of truth and unrighteous counsel.

If we are unrepentant and remain out of YAH’s WILL, the wicked one’s prison WALLs stay intact for a lifetime and even gets transferred generationally.

Children see and emulate the disobedience to YAH’s WILL done by their parents. Even if parents do this ignorantly and awaken to Truth, the transference has already occurred. Yet there is always hope.

Jericho’s Wall

No doubt the wicked one schooled the Jerichoans in how to build the thick walls that surrounded that city. Behind that WALL were YAH’s promises.

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Exodus 3:8

On the outside while in their wilderness WALL, Israel could not even fathom the abundant provision that YAH had for them.

Willing Workers

Wicked WALLs of the wicked are not necessarily physical like that of Jericho as YAHUAH’s are not as well. While YAH’s walls seem to function within circumstances, the wicked one’s favorite construction material for his walls is people (which can include our own self).

His walls are designed to make us lose sight of the greatness of our Elohim and His benefits to His covenant-keeping people.

Blessed be YAHUAH, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the El of our salvation. Selah.

Psalms 68:19

Also, His WALLs distort our view of the character of YAHUAH.

For Elohim doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as elohim, knowing good and evil.

Genesis 3:5

Only repentance and seeking to do YAH’s WILL despite our flesh will get us out of these legally built erected WALLs of bondage. Resistance is futile when we use our own strength and ingenuity.

Finally!

When Israel finally got in the WILL of YAH after forty years of protective containment, the WALL of Jericho was summarily destroyed by YAH’s power that He affords to those who are in His will. YAH’s mighty power remains available to us today.

The Messiah’s covenantal finished work included freeing us from these impeding WALLs.

The Spirit of the Master YAHUAH is upon me; because YAHUAH hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of YAHUAH is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luke 4:18

Personal Walls

Personally, I have dealt with WALLs most of my life, some for my protection and some not. What’s so diabolical about the wicked one’s walls is that often we don’t even know they are there. Yet even though we can’t see them, they are very much real.

As I press more and more into Truth, I can see two of the biggest walls of containment for me were (I write by faith) – rejection and pride. I am now able to see, by sincerely seeking Truth, that I have been hemmed in by these wicked WALLs. I also see that they have been fortified by my own doings (being out of the WILL of YAH).

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Psalms 23:3

The Walls Come Down

I am being Biblically transformed day by day, year by year as I endeavor to be in the WILL of YAH and walk on His paths of righteousness.

This is the path of freedom from the wicked one’s WALLs of containment and to be released and authorized to move beyond YAH’s WALLs of safety.

Important Question

The question then becomes, “If YAHUAH’s WILL is the way out and over containment WALLs, then how do we get in and abide in His WILL?”

This is a very good and often asked question. Many sermons, messages and books have been spoken and written about the WILL of YAH. I’d like to offer an additional way to answer this question.

A Little Grammar

To do so, let’s first briefly examine the English word, “will.” This word is both a verb (action word) and a noun (person, place, think, idea). However, action is involved in both parts of speech (noun, verb) even if we use the word, will, as a noun.

For example, a person’s will (volition-noun) is nothing if action is not put to it to bring about the desired outcome of the will. In other words, we always need actions (verb) to carry out the intent of the noun, will.

Likewise, we can conclude that it is only possible to be in the WILL (noun) of YAH in the context of actions (verb)—doing the WILL of YAH. These are inseparable. Stated negatively, it is impossible to be in the WILL of YAH without actually doing the WILL of YAH. If we are NOT DOING YAH’s WILL, then we are NOT in YAH’s WILL.

They Go Together

Words of agreement with YAH’s Will must be accompanied by corresponding, agreeing actions. Otherwise, confusion and chaos are created.

For instance, such attitudes such as “Do as I say and not as I do” are not life-giving. Instead, this creates  resentment and rebellion (especially in children) and malfeasance (throughout societies across the world).

In the same way, Believe the Bible because I say so and not because you see me doing what the Bible says in my everyday life yields the same results.

We seek to ever align our words with our actions (doing the WILL of YAH) in every area of life—business dealings, in our homes within families, in our places of employment, in schools, in places of commerce (stores, restaurants, markets, etc.), in churches, assemblies. This is how to get in the will of YAHUAH.

In all that we find ourselves doing, we endeavor to DO according to YAH’s WILL. If what we do is not according to His WILL, then we turn from it. Otherwise, there go the WALLs again.

Connections

The Messiah also connects being in the WILL of YAH with actually DOING the WILL of YAH.

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Matthew 12:50

Not every one that saith unto me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Master, Master, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:21-23

Do We Agree?

Now that we agree (hopefully) that being in YAH’s WILL is synonymous with doing YAH’s WILL, we must now know what exactly is YAH’s WILL.

This brings me back to my time of praise yesternight. After seeing the revelation of W-A-L-Ls being erected when we are out of YAH’s W-I-L-L, I also saw this: W-I-L-L —-W-A-L-L.

Look Again

Now, you may say, “But, Vivian, that spells the same thing that you already wrote about.” Yes, you’re right. But look again. Read the word backwards. That is backwards to English readers, but not backwards Hebraically.

Although this word is not Hebrew, read from right to left, it reads, W-A-L-L which is L-L-A-W read left to right. Now drop one of the Ls in the word and we have the English word, LAW, hidden in plain sight.

Do Obey

The WILL of YAH is the LAW of YAH.

I delight to do thy will, O my Elohim: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Psalms 40:8

If we want to DO the WILL of YAH, we simply must DO YAH’s LAW. Yes, simply. YAH’s LAW is not complicated or grievous. Sin, on the other hand, is.

Obedience to YAHUAH’s W-I-L-L, which is His W-A-L-L, enables us to be free from containing W-A-L-Ls.

YAH’s LAW is found in the first five books of the Bible. The Messiah makes this distinction:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matthew 5:17

Here YAHUSHA differentiates between the LAW (the first five books) in Scripture and the prophets’ writings in Scripture.

Objections

In objection, some may say that the WILL of YAH is more than the LAW given in the Old Testament. What about the Messiah’s commandments? We do his will and don’t recognize the LAW in the Old Testament because they were done away with at the cross. Afterall, the Messiah directly said that he gave new commandments in John 13 and15?

Let’s examine these:

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 13:34-35

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

John 15:12

John 13 and John 15 refer to the LAW of YAHUAH in Leviticus 19:18. They are not new commandments given by the Messiah. The Messiah had not come at the time of Leviticus 19:18. Therefore, the additional part (as I have loved you) would have been “new” to those listening.

In essence, this already existing LAW of YAHUAH was renewed (made new) as Messiah came and demonstrated his love for his disciples.

In addition to YAHUSHA’s not giving new laws, all the scribes, recorders, and the prophets in the books after Deuteronomy (Joshua through Malachi) and the writers of the New Testament did not establish any new laws apart from the law found in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.

Law Reproofs

Instead, they spoke and wrote words of reproof, correction, and edification to YAH’s people in the context of His original LAW given in the first five books of the Bible.

A well-known passage in the Old Testament is Isaiah 58. Each of the prophet’s points reminded the people of YAH’s original WILL, His LAW.

Isaiah 58:6  Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? (Deuteronomy 16:18-20)

Isaiah 58:7  Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? (Exodus 23:9, 11; Deuteronomy 15:7; 24:12, 14)

Isaiah 58:9  Then shalt thou call, and the YAHUAH shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity (Exodus 20:16; 23:1-2, 7-8; Leviticus 19:11,15-16)

Isaiah 58:10  And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: (Exodus 23:10-11; Lev. 19:9-10)

Isaiah 58:13  If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of YAHUAH, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; 31:16-17)

These are just a few references to YAH’s original WILL/LAW that Isaiah was speaking of in Isaiah 58.

An Aside

As an aside, YAH did not begin to give His righteous WILL in Exodus 20. He first revealed His WILL, His LAW for mankind, human beings, in Genesis. In truth, His first WILL (commandment) to us dealt with food.

And YAHUAH Elohim took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And YAHUAH Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 2:15-17

Furthermore, each of the Ten Commandments given in Exodus 20, and not just the fourth one, could very well be read with the word, Remember, in mind. This is because, we can go back to Genesis and see where the people of YAH were DOING YAH’s WILL for each of the commandments.

Forgotten Law

The descendants of Abraham had forgotten YAH’s WILL during their time of interfacing with the world in Egypt.

This is one reason that we should not refer to YAH’s LAW, His WILL, as the Law of Moses. Moses was not around during the time that the Patriarchs lived in Genesis.

No Presumption

The writers of the New Testament also did not create, decree, declare new LAWS. They expounded upon and/or called for repentance for violating YAH’s existing LAW which is His WILL, that He already given.

John was not talking out of both sides of his mouth when he wrote:

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

1 John 2:7-8

The Apostle John would not be so presumptuous as to create a new commandment on YAH’s behalf. He wrote in similar fashion to the words of YAHUSHA in John 13 and 15.

The new commandment that he speaks of here is the original commandments but now in the context of Messiah having come. Notice that he says in verse 8:

“…: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.”

1 John 2:8

More Grammar

Remember that I wrote about the usage of the colon in English grammar in a previous writing. Everything on the right side of the colon clarifies and/or gives more details about the information on the left side of the colon.

The commandments that John and the other Apostles and writers of the New Testament spoke and wrote about were the original LAW/WILL of YAHUAH. After the Messiah came, “new” light and understanding was shed upon the original commandments in the context of his having already come.

Again, I am sharing this in the context of answering the question, “What is the WILL of YAHUAH?” This is with the answer being that the WILL of YAHUAH is the LAW (Commandments) of YAHUAH found in the first five books of the Bible.

What Is Our Destiny?

When I was in the church, I heard many sermons and teachings in the context of destiny—finding your destiny, how to walk in your destiny, etc. The same is true for books about finding one’s destiny—so many of them.

Today, after this revelation about WALLs, the WILL of YAH and His righteous LAW, I clearly see that the true focus should not be on finding one’s destiny. We should seek to be in the WILL of YAH and that is done when we OBEY the LAW of YAH.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Ecclesiastes 12:13

Old School

His WILL and purpose for our lives is His WILL (His LAW). Much of the old school spiritual warfare of whooping and hollering at the devil and church “Jericho” marches would not be necessary if we would walk in obedience to YAH’s LAW/His Will. There are great covenantal promises to those who DO.

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

Exodus 23:20-22

Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of YAHUAH your Elohim, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of YAHUAH: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which YAHUAH sware unto thy fathers, To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as YAHUAH hath spoken.

Deuteronomy 6:17-19

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Master, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Luke 10:17-20

Sceva 2.4

Dark, dark, dark, powerful wickedness is rising in the earth right before the slumbering eyes of the world. Old school spiritual warfare will cease to be effective against them as it appeared to be effective before. I suspect that in the days to come, we will hear of and see widespread reoccurrences of Acts 19.

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Master YAHUSHA, saying, We adjure you by YAHUSHA whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, YAHUSHA I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Acts 19:13-16

Now is the time to seek to be in YAH’s Will while He may be found. As explained earlier, seeking to obey His will goes with seeking YAH’s Will.

As we walk in obedience to YAH’s WILL, His LAW, He releases us from His protective WALLs, and demolishes the wicked one’s containing WALLs. Then more of His purpose (destiny if you will) is revealed.

Covenant Is Conditional

According to the doctrine of many Churches, what I have written is “works” based.

Here is what I write in response. I look at Scripture through the lenses of covenant. And what I see is that covenant is conditional.

Each party has their responsibility within the covenant. With our Creator, our responsibility is to love Him the way that He wants to be loved and His responsibility (if you will) is to love us in the way that we need to be loved. That’s just how covenant works. It’s not lopsided with one party doing all the work.

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Exodus 20:6

Know therefore that YAHUAH thy Elohim, he is Elohim, the faithful El, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face. Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that YAHUAH thy Elohim shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

Deuteronomy 7:9-13

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:15

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:21

YAHUSHA answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:23

So when “works” are chided and derided, Basically, what is said is that we expect and demand that YAH WORK on our behalf regardless.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohim? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohim.

James 4:4

We want to be able to summon Him whenever we are in a pinch or bind, while day by day We WORK to pursue the pleasures of this world and to get as close to the world as we can without “technically” being of the world. I just don’t see covenant shown like this in the Bible.

Of Course

Of Course, I am not speaking of working to earn justification in the sight of YAH. This was freely afforded to us through our final High Priest YAHUSHA Messiah. This writing is about day by day, moment by moment living.

Stating the Obvious

Now, bear with me as I state the obvious here. To DO the WILL of YAH, we must first seek to know what His WILL says. To know His WILL means that we cannot skip to the back of the Book and expect to truly know His WILL. We must spend time in Genesis to Deuteronomy and purpose to obey that which we are able to do in our current situation of worldwide slavery; I mean illusion of freedom; No, I mean freedom.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of YAHUAH hath spoken it.

Isaiah 1:19-20

Our reading also includes the New Testament. We will certainly fall short in our obedience and the New Testament shows us the provision afforded us by the Messiah’s sacrifice.

I Digress

I digress here for a moment. Notice that I wrote reading and not study first. Bible reading and Bible study are different.

Many are quite intimidated by the term, Bible Study. It does sound daunting and scholarly which causes avoidance of Bible Reading altogether. Statistics reveal that most Bible believers do not regularly read their Bibles. We can look at the deteriorating doctrines of many churches and laisse-faire living of their congregants to see that this is very true.

In my opinion, studying portions of the YAH’s Word is a natural outgrowth of reading His Word. As we devote time to reading the Word, YAH’s Ruach Qodesh will point us in the direction of study that will be precise to what we need to grow in YAH.

I am a living witness that this is the case. I sit down daily  to just read YAHs Word following the reading plan posted on Revelation for Living. When I am led by YAH’s Ruach, I temporarily put the reading plan aside and dive deeper on a verse, a word, a subject, etc.

Then I prayerfully apply what I studied. And the WALLs are coming down in my life! Slowly, but surely, I am being Biblically transformed.

I believe that simply reading the Bible to know what the whole book says is perfectly okay. This spiritual exercise is both necessary and valuable. Now, back to the main subject of this writing.

Read to Know

Knowing what YAH’s WILL is by reading His WILL allows us to know what to do and not to do. We cannot plead ignorance when the wicked one legally boxes us in with his WALLs or as YAH lovingly restrains us in our disobedience. We can not blame YAHUAH who has already provided what we need to know and do.

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

Romans 2:12

My son, despise not the chastening of YAHUAH neither be weary of his correction: For whom YAHUAH loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 3:11-12

For whom YAHUAH loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, YAHUAH dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Hebrews 12:6-8

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Psalms 119:71

Conclusion

Obedience to YAH’s WILL which is His LAW is basic, foundational, fundamental to walking with Him. His WILL is revealed on the pages of the first five books of the Bible and are expounded upon in the other books.

There are WALLs just waiting to contain, restrain, and restrict, the hearers only of YAH’s WILL.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:22

YAHUAH’s WILL which is His LAW in the context of the Blood of YAHUSHA, the Messiah, transforms us so that we can be released from, break free from, break through, break out of, and break down all impeding WALLs.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:32

    1. Shalom Glenda,

I really do appreciate you’re taking the time to read the writing on the importance of knowing the will of YAHUAH.
Thank you as well for taking the time to post a comment.

If you will, can you comment again with specific Scripture references to shed more insights on the points in your comment. This is because, I am just not one to be convinced without specifics from YAH’s Word. This is also why I, myself, try to use Scriptures throughout my writings.

Please notice that I used Scriptures (plural) and not Scripture (singular) for each point. Having two or three witnesses from Scripture is a commandment from the Law of YAHUAH that the writers of the New Testament understood to have not been done away with (Matthew 18:16; 2 Cor. 13:1; Heb. 10:28).

Here is a list of points that I am kindly requesting clarity:

Glenda: “I pray Yahuah shows you that Yahusha is our Sabbath rest…”

      Vivian: Please give supporting Scripture(S).

Glenda: “and the Law has been fulfilled

Vivian: Please define “fulfilled” Biblically and from the perspective of the people of the Bible. For instance, when you and I think of fulfilled, we quite naturally think of perhaps Amazon or some other online ordering business that fulfills our order and our transaction is complete or “done” (i.e., done away with, fulfilled).

However, although the Scriptures were written for us, for our benefit, they were not originally written to us, but to the Hebrew people who lived at the time. Therefore, “fulfilled” would need to be defined Scripturally from the perspective of the ancient Hebrew people, with supporting Scriptures and not from out modern way of thinking.

Glenda: “…with Yahusha’s blood. HIs death burial and resurrection, when He was raised from death to LIFE HE went into the Holy of Holies and sprinkled everything with HIS blood and fulfilled the old covenant.”

Vivian: Please Biblically clarify what “everything” is.

Glenda: “We now live in HIS covenant. The renewed covenant…”

Vivian: Please Scripturally define who “HIS” is and define the specifics of “HIS covenant.”

Glenda: “HE put HIS laws in our hearts. To love Him with all our hearts, all our soul and all our mind.”

Vivian: Please give specifics from Scripture on exactly (not opinions or cultural/political correctness) how “HE” wants to be loved by us with all of our hearts, soul and minds.

Glenda: “And the second likened unto or until He comes for us. And this Yahusha will do for us.”

Vivian: Please give the Scriptural references for this comment.

Glenda: “What HE has started in us HE will complete.”

Vivian: Please give Scriptural clarity. I think I know what Scripture you have in mind… but not sure of how this relates to the article written above.

Glenda: “Please, study Hebrews you will truly be blessed.”

Vivian: Yes, agreed, Hebrews is truly a blessing to study.

Glenda: “We have to surrender all to HIM, and we can’t even do that? He even brings us there.”

Vivan: Please give Scriptural clarity and references.

Glenda: “YAHUSHA HOLY SPIRIT can and Will lead us into, until all TRUTH is revealed at HIS coming to set up HIS Kingdom on this earth !!!”

Vivian: Yes, all will be made plain and known at the Messiah’s return. I am thankful for the plain Truth that we can know in the written Word of YAH at this present time. I am thankful for the Blood of the Messiah when we fall short.

Thank you, again, Glenda for stopping by and for commenting on this post. I hope to hear from you again.

      Vivian
