Leviticus 1 Observations

Leviticus 1:1-2
qorbân    qûrbân

Total KJV occurrences: 82

qârab
kaw-rab’
A primitive root; to approach (causatively bring near) for whatever purpose: – (cause to) approach, (cause to) bring (forth, near), (cause to) come (near, nigh), (cause to) draw near (nigh), go (near), be at hand, join, be near, offer, present, produce, make ready, stand, take.

Total KJV occurrences: 280

Nearness and offerings stand out as connected in these definitions. The offerings were brought to YAHUAH whose presence was with the Children of Israel (COI) in the wilderness. Detailed instructions were given to the COI in the wilderness so that they come near to the tabernacle to present their offerings. What the ramifications for us today?

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrew 10:22

Draw nigh to Elohim, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:8

Is YAHUSHA’s atonement for our sins on autopilot for all sins, past, present and future and we never have to come near to YAH to repent for sins? Or do we appropriate the atoning blood of YAHUSHA daily on our behalf for our sins?

There are beliefs on both views. We must be sure that we understand according to Scripture as opposed to doctrinal traditions.

Leviticus 1:3 Voluntary offerings

Leviticus 1:10 Male without blemish. I wrote some about burnt offerings in this publication on fasting.

Hebrews 1 Observations

Hebrews 1 YAHUSHA voluntarily and willingly gave Himself as our unleavened sacrifice anointed with the oil of gladness.

Looking unto YAHUSHA the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.

Hebresws 12:2

Hebrews 1:9 Oil of gladness prerequisites—to love righteousness; to hate iniquity.

Disclaimer

Please, please comment below if you see ANYTHING that is contrary to Scripture that I have presented in these Scripture Observations. I want Truth and when I see that I have made a mistake, I want to correct that. No chips on my shoulders here.

I also ask one thing, though. Please, please present your thoughts in the context of two or three Scripture references, not just one (see Deuteronomy 17:6; Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1). One verse (especially one verse out of context) will not be received as evidence. I am just not one to interpret Scripture or accept other’s interpretation of Scripture apart from the written Word of YAH found in the whole counsel of His written Word.

I try my best to limit the use of the precursor words of “I think” or “I believe” without Scripture to back up my “I thinks” and “I believes.” Not only on this site, but be on the lookout anywhere else for excessive “I think” and “I believe” statements presented as Truth, with no Scriptural evidence to back up the statements.

The written Word of YAHUAH is the standard, the vanguard against deception which as you know is quite rampant these days.
