Exodus 16 Observations
Exodus 16:18-19 A case for daily Bible contact (reading/listening/hearing) while also being a connection between the New Testament and the Old Testament. The Children of Israel (COI) were commanded concerning the manna:
…Let no man leave of it till the morning. Exodus 16:19
What is the connection between the Old and the New? YAHUSHA tells us.
Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. John 6:31
Then YAHUSHA said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. John 6:32
For the bread of Elohim is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33
And YAHUSHA said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
I am that bread of life. John 6:48
In his model prayer YAHUSHA said these words concerning bread:
Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11
Give us day by day our daily bread. Luke 11:3
Joshuah 5:12 tells us that the physical manna ceased after the first Passover that the COI observed in Canaan. Yet we are told to ask YAH for our daily bread. If we are to ask for daily bread, then that means that Abba has provided daily bread for us. Then, where do we get the daily bread that we are told to ingest?
Here is what I believe to be the answer based on Scripture. YAHUSHA told us that he is the bread of life. John 1:1 also tells us that YAHUSHA is the Word. So, putting two and two together, we can conclude that our daily bread is the Word of YAH, His written Word. I repeat John 6:33, 35, 48 here:
For the bread of Elohim is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33
And YAHUSHA said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
I am that bread of life. John 6:48
Just as an aside, if we negate who YAHUSHA is by denying his deity, are we not also automatically negating the written Word of YAH, for one of the most popular Bible books, John, says that YAHUAH, YAHUSHA, and the Word are one. They are inseparable and the same. Therefore, they cannot be put asunder without destroying the entire Good News message.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. John 1:1
The same was in the beginning with Elohim. John 1:2
So, you see, the bread that we are to consume daily is the Word of YAH. Now, going back to the Messiah’s model prayer.
Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11
Give us day by day our daily bread. Luke 11:3
Remember the COI were to gather the manna every morning and were commanded to not leave any until morning. Like the COI in the wilderness, we need fresh manna every day. Although, YAH’s Word is eternally good and plainly applicable. We must return daily for His bread that will offer fresh insights to each of us as to how to live the set-apart life unto the Creator.
Another observation about the manna in the wilderness and its connection to the living bread. The manna was unleavened. YAHUSHA said to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees which represents false doctrines and teachings. If each of us does not partake daily of the unleavened bread of YAH’s Word, we will become spiritually famished. This will cause us to reach, grab, and readily devour tainted, leavened bread of false doctrines.
Our spiritual palettes won’t even realize that these stinky doctrines are composed of the same putrid roots of the ancient idolatries of days gone by. When we don’t eat fresh bread of life daily, we won’t be able to discern the core rottenness that leaven has infused into this ancient bread. Such leavened-bread doctrines are a stench in the nostrils of YAHUAH.

Disclaimer
Please, please comment below if you see ANYTHING that is contrary to Scripture that I have presented in these Scripture Observations. I want Truth and when I see that I have made a mistake, I want to correct that. No chips on my shoulders here.
I also ask one thing, though. Please, please present your thoughts in the context of two or three Scripture references, not just one (see Deuteronomy 17:6; Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1). One verse (especially one verse out of context) will not be received as evidence. I am just not one to interpret Scripture or accept other’s interpretation of Scripture apart from the written Word of YAH found in the whole counsel of His written Word.
I try my best to limit the use of the precursor words of “I think” or “I believe” without Scripture to back up my “I thinks” and “I believes.” Not only on this site, but be on the lookout anywhere else for excessive “I think” and “I believe” statements presented as Truth, with no Scriptural evidence to back up the statements.
The written Word of YAHUAH is the standard, the vanguard against deception which as you know is quite rampant these days.
